We wanted to promote wearing clothes made of natural fibres
We wanted to make clothes that just fit incredibly well
We strongly believe in being more deliberate with buying clothes
I started Placket with my father after talking about starting a clothing brand for years. Mid 2025 we decided to go for it, We believed in the vision and we sawan oppurtunity to build something we believed in - a slower more sustainable fashion model. More like the old days where almost everything you bought might have been altered for you.
Fast fashion via online platforms has pushed an absolute tidal wave of polyester crap accross the world. We want to show people that if they buy things a little bit more deliberately, aiming to buy quality and wear it for longer, they will not only have a better experience but they will do themselves, and the planet some good.
All our clothes that contain plastics leach them into our environment, from the dust in our homes to the water, buying natural fibres is the easiest thing you can do to reduce the microplastics released from your clothes. Something that does not contain plastic can't release them.
The idea of made to order and made to measure arose because we wanted our shirts to be special, to be just for you; while minimising stock since so much of it inevitably goes to waste.
The real wow moment for Placket came with our first round of samples. The first shirt I wore, the sleeves. The sleeves were the right length, they didn't poke past my wrist, or end early. They were just right and were the first shirt I have ever worn that just fit perfectly.
